Via twitter, Cassandra Clare tweeted about Glamour magazine mentioning her books, The Mortal Instruments. The article goes on to express a guilty pleasure of loving to read racy teen lit. Read it here.
As stated in the article, the author says she's embarrassed to admit to reading teen lit. This I could relate to and it made me wonder who else felt this way? I know some of our followers ARE teens, and it's totally acceptable for you all.. but what about the oldER crowd here?
There have been times when I've been embarrassed to browse the teen lit area. I think I'm much more embarrassed about looking through the romance section though.
ReplyDeleteI think my most embarrassing momentfor me was at Barnes & Noble when I was buying that Twilight Scene-It game, along with a few RPattz magazines before I came to visit MN!! lol I kept turning the box over, hoping no one would see it.. but the Twilight label was all over it!
ReplyDeleteI just always act as if I am browsing for gifts!
ReplyDeleteI'm not too embaressed to read really anything! I used to read Star Wars books in High School! and I read VC Andrews in 3rd grade!
HAHA! Yeah Jes, I read all the SW's a lot too! I don't think I hit VC quite THAT early but it was late grade school/early middle school! I guess I went kinda bacwards, adult books in the teen years, now I'm enjoying the teen books in my adult years!
ReplyDeleteThis may be hard to believe, but I HATED reading up until a few years ago. So when I was a teenager, and SHOULD have been reading this stuff.. I didn't! I regret it now. But it's never too late to start!! lol
