Question of the Day
This one comes courtesy of Ginger's comment on the SM article Alison posted (thanks, Ginger!):
SM had a detailed dream that resulted in Twilight. Do you have detailed dreams? What are your dreams like?

Twilight plug (?) on American Idol
OK, so by posting this, I'm admitting I watch American Idol, but did anyone else catch the Twilight references at the end of the night? The last singer, Adam Lambert, sang "Satisfaction". I don't know that I liked or disliked it, but then Randy said something along the lines of "you've got this great old school rock meets Fall Out Boy meets Robert Pattinson from Twilight vibe" and then Seacrest was like "How does it feel to be compared to Edward Cullen?" It almost seemed like a plug. Entertaining, anyway.
Here's a link to a photo of Adam. Meh.

Question of the Day
so... obvs. most of us aren't digging Kristen right now. I know that when them movie came out, there were some other actors that we discovered we weren't too fond of as well.
So my question is this:
If you could recast the Twilight movies, who would you want to recast? Who would you replace them with? Why?

Ryah was right
I found this here
When asked why his daughter wasn't presenting at the Oscars along co-star R-Patz, K-Stew's father, John Stewart (not Jon, the Daily Show host), responded she would present "When it's a great movie, not just one that makes a lot of money."

gross!
I just saw this on Perezhilton.com
British actor Stephen Moyer has confirmed that he's in a 'real life' relationship with his True Blood co-star/on-screen love interest, Ana Paquin!
Apparently the sparks between the two started flying during the audition phase of the show, but they've kept things on the DL ’til now.
Moyer told TV Guide, “The reason it was dodged last year was very intentional on both our parts. It was very important to me that the cast and crew we were working with didn’t feel it was fickle, and didn’t feel it could possibly potentially encroach on their lives, you know, just like, ‘Oh the two stars are having a thing.’ We didn’t want to take anything away from the show. The show is the star, not the two people having a relationship.”

Kristen, Kristen...
Here are some quotes from Kristen's recent interview with NYLON magazine, what do you think?
On the Twilight Madness: “Anywhere we’d go for Twilight was a psychotic situation. The sound was deafening, and it’s thoughtless, as well… You get a slew of all these bullshit questions like, ‘What’s it like to kiss a vampire?’ and ‘How much do you love Robert?’ Then you’ll get one that’s actually real, but you’re like, ‘No, I can’t right now, I can’t even consider [it].”
On her memorable David Letterman appearance: “I feel like I have nothing to say on those shows… I’m not good at the funny thing—most people are really great on those shows. I don’t have a contrived personality that [I can] just pump out [for] a five-minute segment, so I end up sitting there and looking kind of baffled. Embarassing.”
And no, she’s not dating Robert Pattinson: “It’s just totally false… Rob and I are good friends. We went through a lot together, so we feel very close. But if we go out in public, every little detail is scrutinized, like the way I stand next to him. And it’s like, I know this guy really fucking well [laughs]. It’s only natural that we’re sort of leaning on each other, because we’re put in the most fucking psychotic situations.”

The Return of "Rob Pic of the Day"
Rob looked very dashing at the Oscars this evening! I held my breath for him as he presented, abit worried that he'd mess up for some reason- however he did wonderful! I think he even looked very Edwardish tonight, I think he was channeling him abit.
p.s. I think it's really interesting that they sat Rob right behind Mickey Rourke- it's a maximun exposure seat- plus it was like Edward was at the Oscars.

Eclipse Info!!!
A third film in “The Twilight Saga” is now set, reports Deadline Hollywood Daily. Summit Entertainment, the studio behind the series based on Stephenie Meyer’s teen vampire books, has apparently decided to release Eclipse on June 30, 2010. That’s little more than half a year after the series’ second movie, New Moon, is due to come out, on Nov. 20, 2009. No director for the third film is confirmed yet, and New Moon and Eclipse aren’t set to be filmed back-to-back.
Chris Weitz will not direct the third film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, a source close to the production tells EW.com exclusively. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together (on Nov. 20, 2009, and June 30, 2010, respectively), Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon at the same time that Eclipse will be shooting. That said, the source confirms a report that the movies will not be shot simultaneously or back-to-back; there will be a brief gap between the production of both films.

New Vamp Lit and catching the Twilight bug again!
Hello all, its been awhile since I've posted, I think I've been in a vamp slump. But, I am happy to say that I've found a new Vamp series to read this week, and I am tearing through them something fearce. (I don't think Alison has posted about them or read them) I'm reading the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward, (I know that they will not be for everyone) they are found in the romance section, and they are racey! they've got me back in the Vamp mode again!
They have an interesting take on the Vampire idea, and the lovin' is off the charts. Kari- I am planning to pass them onto you very soon ;)
I'm also feeling the Twilight bug comming back to me. Friday I was standing in the check-out at Target and I noticed the lady behind me was buying New Moon- so I asked her if she was reading them (she may have been buying it for a daughter or something) and she in fact was buying it for herself. I got this huge rush as I started to talk to her about Twilight and how she liked it and how it was that she had started to read the series. It was so great to talk to someone new about the books again!

Vampire Diaries On The CW
Perez is reporting that the CW has picked up a pilot based on L.J. Smith's book series, Vampire Diaries. I haven't read these book but maybe someone has? Is it worth it to watch/read?
I'll probably check it out no matter what. Lord knows I can't turn down a vamp book.

Question of the Day
Ginger posted this blurb that she found online. Read it and tell us if you agree or disagree with Stephen King's assessment of SM and why.
"Stephen King's opinion may drive a stake through the heart of "Twilight" author, Stephenie Meyer. In an interview with USA Weekend, the bestselling author compared Meyer with J.K. Rowling , the author of the Harry Potter series. According to Stephen, "Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good." While Stephen may not be a fan of Stephenie's writing, he understands the appeal of the series. "People are attracted by the stories, by the pace and in the case of Stephenie Meyer, it's very clear that she's writing to a whole generation of girls and opening up kind of a safe joining of love and sex in those books. It's exciting and it's thrilling and it's not particularly threatening because it's not overtly sexual." He further explains, "A lot of the physical side of it is conveyed in things like the vampire will touch her forearm or run a hand over skin, and she just flushes all hot and cold. And for girls, that's a shorthand for all the feelings that they're not ready to deal with yet."

A tiny bit of Leah info
we discussed the subject of Leah and her possible involvement or uninvolvement in the movies here
I found this tidbit over at people.com, suggesting that Leah WILL appear in Eclipse
"I'm not sure about [final] casting but I had heard Vanessa Hudgens was going up for the part of Leah [Clearwater, a werewolf]," screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote both films, explained to PEOPLE at the 61st Annual Directors Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles Saturday night. "But at the moment, the part of Leah doesn't happen until the third movie."

Stephenie continues to pout over spilled milk
A bunch of articles are circulating regarding midnight sun. This one was found here
'Twilight' Author Halts Work On Sequel
"Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer has abandoned writing the fifth installment of the popular vampire series, because she is upset that an unfinished manuscript of the book has been leaked online.
The writer was working the novel "Midnight Sun" when the half-written story made its way onto the Internet.
So disheartened by the move, Meyer has put down her pen and paper indefinitely.
Next to a posting of the leaked manuscript on her Web site, she writes, "I feel too sad about what has happened to continue working on 'Midnight Sun,' so it is on hold indefinitely.
"I'd rather my fans not read this version. ... the writing is messy and flawed and full of mistakes. But how do I comment on this violation without driving more people to look for the illegal posting?"
A representative for the writer confirms to the New York Daily News, "Nothing's changed. Stephenie has no plans to move forward with 'Midnight Sun' at this time."
Instead, Meyer has moved on to write another tale, unrelated to the "Twilight" series.
The spokesperson adds, "Stephenie is working on something else at the moment. But she hasn't announced it yet. It isn't 'Twilight'-related. When she's ready to reveal it, she will. This has been an intense three years for her, and currently she's just focusing on being a writer."
The first book in Meyer's vampire novels was turned into a big screen blockbuster last year, with the Robert Pattinson-starring movie grossing $337 million to date worldwide.
