Just in case you are not as OCD as the rest of us, and if you live in the Twin Cities area, and still have the night open, come and join (most) of the SVC crowd at the Border's Party near Ridgedale Mall (yes, the Ridgedale Mall that was in Juno).

It's finally happened.
I've previously posted that I still visualize my own Edward and Bella when I read the books. Not true anymore.
I'm re-reading all three (or trying to...) before BD comes out, and I just read the meadow scene earlier today and was totally picturing Rob Pattinson's face as Edward's. And Kristen Stewart as Bella. Though she still has the voice in my head, not her voice.
I'm kind of sad, kind of not. I don't usually visualize faces when I read, so it's nice to have more detail. But at the same time, I kinda miss my Bella and Edward. Oh well. The movie has gotten the best of me...

Robert Pattinson Quote of the Day
Anyone else besides Jill and I an X-File fan?
"Whenever I used to go to a fancy dress party, I always used to dress up as Fox Mulder," Robert Pattinson revealed to us after grabbing a look at some of the caped crusaders roaming the halls. "It was such a normal costume, but I'd just wear a suit." The actor added that he can't wait to see the new "X-Files" flick. "Yeah, I'm a big fan," he said. "I'm definitely going to see it."

New Theory!!!
So, I just got off the phone with my sister, Megan, who some of you have met. She is Team Jacob all the way.
Anyway, she is re-reading Eclipse in preparation for Breaking Dawn to come out, and she was thinking to herself, "Why, WHY won't Jacob imprint on Bella?" because she can't see Bella wanting to be with Edward over Jacob (though she does love Edward, too. Just not like she loves her werewolf).
She came up with a theory: Jacob CAN'T imprint on Bella, because Bella has been bitten by a vampire - James bit her at the end of Twilight.
This just makes sense in my mind. I told her I'd post it (and give her credit for it) and see what you guys think. It makes her feel a lot better about Jacob and Bella not being together.
Thought I'd share!!!

Twilight Movie Calendar
I was out of town Friday through Saturday, so I forgot to check the mail - doh! I just finished gawking over the Twilight movie calendar I'd preordered through Borders.
I love it - I'm sure someone will scan the photos and post them somewhere; I'll bring it to the next SVC meeting. There's a great prom pic of Bella and Edward (and several others of the two I love), a HOTT pic of Carlisle (yessss!) and a cool one involving Billy, Charlie and Jacob (and Jacob's hair looks good. Whew!). There's one of just Rosalie and Emmett, so I was disappointed there isn't one of just Alice and Jasper. But oh well - they ARE in one pic with Edward.

Question of the Day
I have to make a confession, last night I was googling and I found myself searching for Breaking Dawn Spoilers... I was just curious to see what was out there (not much I have to say.)
But I did come across a conversation about the 5th book (not Midnight Sun)- the 5th book , the book that Steph has said she will write about other Characters in the Forks world. Somewhere someone wrote that Steph has even confirmed that she has written several chapters for this untitled book. This book will not be about B&E, they will be background or supporting characters. So my question is this today:
What Stephenie Character would you like this book to be focused on? And who do you actually think it will be focused on?

Labor would be sexy if Carlisle was delivering...
Drumroll please...
Though they've been drooling over the wondrous array of vampire-y adult beverages posted on this site over the last few months, two SVC coven leaders, Kari and Erin, haven't been able to partake. Yes, that's right, despite their penchant for vampire lovin', they've converted to "Hosts." Kari is about fifteen weeks along and due January 15th, and Erin is about thirteen weeks along, due on January 29th.
Possible advantages to being a knocked up SVC-er:
- Clear memories of SVC karaoke night. OK, maybe that isn't an advantage.
- Having the appetite of a werewolf. Again, maybe not an advantage.
- Belly doubles for book holder when BD comes out and popcorn holder at the Twilight movie.
- Perma-excuse for butting in line at events. Hey, pregnant ladies first.
Possible disadvantages to being a knocked up SVC-er:
- Water shots instead of tequila shots.
- Possibly not able to fly in December to attend LA premiere of Twilight movie.
- Huge belly not very stealth - may scare Rob Pattinson whilst stalking.
- If bitten, pregnant for ETERNITY. Nooooooooooooooooooo....
Anyway, just an update that the coven is growing! :-)

Question of the Day: The answer.
“It’s so hard to describe. It’s not like love at first sight, really. It’s more like…gravity moves. When you see her, suddenly it’s not the earth holding you here anymore. She does. And nothing matters more than her. And you would do anything for her, be anything for her…You become whatever she needs you to be, whether that’s a protector, or a lover, or a friend, or a brother.”
–Jacob Black.

Question of the Weekend: A Guessing Game!
I have started to revamp Eclipse so that I am ready for Breaking Dawn. As I was reading the first chapter last night my mind started to wander when I got to the Wuthering Heights convo between Ed and Bella...
We all know that SM has also pulled from Romeo and Juliet and she has said that BD is loosely based on Mid Summer and another book/story. For this weekend edition of the qod, I want us to be creative and guess a book/story each that we think SM could use as her 2nd muse for BD. It will be interesting to see if anyone guess correctly!
Just take a guess! more shakepere, maybe an Austen novel? or something more contemporary?? lets see what we can come up with.

Jealousy and Quote of the Day
So, so jealous. She gets to be part of the "pack."

And any thoughts on today's BD Quote of the Day? From www.stepheniemeyer.com:
Edward: “You’re awfully small to be so hugely irritating.”
It's gotta be Alice. Or maybe Bella?

Question of the Day
This question was inspired (if not closely paraphrased) by a question from the Lex and I thought it was interesting.
Obviously SM focuses heavily on love and extreme commitments to [eternal] life partners. But realistically, Bella is 18 and already set to marry a vampire and change her life forever. Jacob is even younger and running away from his family all because his heart was broken by the girl he also wanted to spend the rest of his life with (at 16, none-the-less). The question is this, at 16 or 18 can we really trust that these kids are ready to make more than life long commitments to love? Do they really know what they are doing or is it a naive mistake they could regret?

Erin and I are on a Mission!
So, Erin and I are having a heck of a time trying to find the Twilight Copy of Entertainment Weekly. All I have found on the newstands is the Batman Copy... I have gone to 2 Targets, a Walgreens, 2 gas stations, and a Walmart. Erin has gone to a few places tonight and it was a no go. Any suggestions on where to find them? I am going to try Barnes and Noble tmrw.... errrrrr. I will resort to going in to a hospital or a dentist or somekind of office setting to swipe one if needed!
Also, if you go to EW's website there is a poll on the home page for Breaking Dawn- so far the tie is between people buying it the min it is available and people having no clue what BD is. vote here.

Question of the Day
If the big fight scene between good (Cullens/Wolves) vs. bad (Volturi/Denali) in Breaking Dawn does go down, do we honestly think that good can win. The Volturi are very powerful, and we don't know all of the guards powers. Do you think others will come in to help our friends.
I just lumped in the Denali clan with the "bad" because we don't quite know enought about them to know what side they will be on. If this epic battle even come to fruition...

ET: Did you catch it?
I just watched the Entertainment Tonight clip - it was great! I DVRed it, so I'll watch it again (and again), but off the top of my head, it had Bella saying something like "I know what you are" or something like that, James saying "you brought a snack," and Edward saying "I'll do whatever it takes to make you safe again." AGH! SO GOOD!
Hopefully it's up on the web soon! I loooovvve Edward in a baseball shirt...sigh.

Penelope DVD- what's on it!
So I was at Target buying groceries, and of course just happened to wander over to the DVD section...and got the last copy of Penelope. I couldn't help it, I bought it. I do want to watch the movie, and I heart James McAvoy... but really I shelled out $16 just for the few min of Twilight. I was curious!
So this is what's on it: The same new little snippet that we've seen with a little more, plus a tiny clip of Bella at the Cullen's house and Edward asking her if she expected moats and castle like features. Then it switches to a clip of them going upstairs and she sees hundreds of graduation mortarboards in the form of a piece of art and Edward makes a joke about them matriculating alot. Lastly, Bella and Edward are in his room, (it is the first part of the clip were she says she isn't scared of him and he says she should be and wisks her out the window.) Clair de Lune is playing and she comments, he starts to dance with her- she says she can't dance. Edward says, "maybe I will make you" and grins very cutely- and then she says "I'm not scared of you" and they fly.

Holy news day!
The Lexicon (link) is a wealth of info today. (And every day!!)
First of all, Twilight Tuesday focuses on the lovely Spunk Ransom today. Check it out by clicking here!
Secondly, Entertainment Tonight is supposed to reveal a NEW TWILIGHT TRAILER (or maybe just a modified one?) tonight. Must DVR... Looks like it's on at 6:30 CST on NBC. At least in MN, according to my Comcast menu. Click here for ET's Website.

I do have to give EW a little credit, check out the other pics in the spread...
Since I have been away from civilization this past weekend, I had a lot to catch up on! I have to say, I just went to the EW website to read the article from the mag and I was really digging the other pics from the photo shoot! There is a really awesome one of Edward carrying Bella in the rain... I like it! Now, why couldn't that have been the cover? Can they read at all???
LA Times posted a tiny little Blurb about the cover, but got it all wrong, saying that the problem was that we don't think Rob Patt. is hot. Uh..... the problem was not that he is not one of the most attractive (but possibly brain dead???) people out there, but that EW made him up to look ridiculous. Seriously folks, get it straight.
Funny how people are still talking about it. Thats old news. I looked for some more stuff, but didn't find much exciting tonight. Alas, it is a Monday, after all.
....not much new here but apparently girls in the Phillipines heart Twilight too! yay!

Question of the Day
I will never forget how in Eclipse, (side note: oh crap!! I just went to find a quote, but I think my husband packed it for the big move!!! what was he thinking--I need it!) Anyway, I will never forget how in the infamous tent scene, Edward and Jacob both kind of admitted how if circumstances were different, they might actually like one another enough to be friends.
****************Mini Spoiler regarding 1st Chapter of Breaking Dawn, if you haven't read it, skip this part***************
In the first chapter of Breaking Dawn, Bella says that Edward and Seth have become friends, and that Seth is even coming to the wedding, and calls Alice by name.
***************Spolier Over*************************
So my question is this: What do you think it will take for Edward/the vamps to reconcile with Jacob/the wolves? Do you think it is possible? Would Eddie and Jake ever be able to be friends, or is it only possible for the larger group?

Nightly News Search
I've been having fun searching for Twilight news articles lately. here's the new stuff tonight:
Seacoast Online posts yet another scathing article about the EW cover. My favorite quote, which I absolutely agree with is this: "But it's the empty, lifeless expressions that really kill it. This is supposed to be a story about passion and forbidden love. Where is it?"
Casting for what appears to be the most awesome Breaking Dawn event ever!
A little info about the Inn (did you know Charlie Chaplin and FDR were once guests there?) includes some (not very exciting) video.

I found a rumor out there that Summitt Entertainment has purchased the right to New Moon, and a script is in the works with a potential release date of Dec 2009. Could this mean three more years of Twilight goodness? I hope so.

Question of the Day
If you have read the first chapter of Breaking Dawn, what did you think of it? What do you think it means for the rest of the book? Do you think there were any "clues" or foreshadowing? Discuss!

Anyway, I lurve that high up places are talking about twilight. ...they also referenced this article from the LA Times citing how many people hated the EW photo..
Just thought you'd like to know. xo a

Happy Birthday, Erin!!!
Erin is turning 27 on July 13 (I believe). She and the other SVC coven leaders are celebrating her birthday with a vampy movie marathon tonight (Buffy, The Lost Boys, Dracula, etc...) I am sooo jealous, because I am all the way here in Chicago. In honor of erin's birthday, and in order to make them feel that I am there with them, I took an Alison fang pic.
....if Edward doesn't bite you tonight, I will!

SVC in EW (kinda)!!!!
Question of the Day
It occurred to me as I was contemplating yesterday's QOD that when I picture the characters in my mind, they are still the same way that I've always pictured them - unaffected by the casting of movie roles. I still see Edward's hair, stature and face shape a certain way (though oddly enough I don't see clear facial features when I read), and the same for Bella etc.
This makes me glad that I'll be able to read Breaking Dawn before the movie comes out, because I'm not sure if I'll still "see" the characters and the town the way I do after I see the whole movie.
Do you still see the characters the way you did when you originally read the books? If so, how did you picture them and Forks/La Push? Or do you see Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart now?

Question of the Day
What involvement do you think the pack will have in Breaking Dawn? What do you think SM will do with Jacob? Do you see him imprinting? COming back? etc, etc.
...Sorry if we already know some answers to this--I haven;t read the first chapter yet, so I have no idea how it set up the book.

Question of the Day
If you could insert yourself into the books as a character who knows what is happening, what role would you play? Would you step in and befriend the Cullens? Stay in the background and let everything play out? Change things?

I must be hungry; I'm thinking about food...
What would be the perfect Twilight meal? Maybe this could be part of our Breaking Dawn release night plans. Mushroom ravioli? Lasagna? Irritable grizzly? Red wine? Coca cola?

Twilight Song
Our favorite Twilight Guy, Kaleb Nation, has a great contest going on in search for the perfect song that encompasses the essence of Twilight. He held an initial voting round and has now narrowed it down to the top ten songs.
Take a look at his list here.
There are some great choices on the list - my personal faves are Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls and Hero/Heroine by Boys Like Girls.
This got me thinking - when SVC was formed back in April, we (especially Corinne) painstakingly went through all of our songs to compile our own soundtrack to Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse. If we had to choose one song for each book, could we? What would it be? (We had a big plan to list our soundtracks on a sidebar link, but it hasn't happened yet - I might work on that today, though I don't know if I have the most updated lists.) Just curious, SVC Coven Leaders, and just wanted to give the shout-out to Kaleb for the great poll.

Question of the Day
Despite the widespread anticipation of the release of Twilight the movie, we've seen few movie-type items slated for sale - a calendar and a special edition of the book (from what I can gather). Knowing that Twilighters will buy pretty much anything related to the book, what crazy movie items can you dream up? Will there be action figure dolls? Will it spawn a Saturday morning cartoon or a TV show, Buffy-style? Halloween costumes? Your answer doesn't have to be realistic; just fun! :-)

Question of the Day
As Breaking Dawn's release approaches and wedding season is upon us, I wonder - do you think the wedding (Edward and Bella's) will happen? If not, why? If so, how do you think it will go down? What will Alice have in store for them? Will anyone show up to disrupt the happy event?
What's your perspective on the Swan/Cullen wedding?

Question of the Weekend (4th of July Style)
We all know the Cullens like to partake in the great American pastime of baseball and spend time with the fam. As we celebrate the 4th with our friends and families this weekend, I ask this question:
What is your favorite American pastime?
How will you be spending your weekend?

Question of the Day
Today marks the ONE MONTH COUNTDOWN to Breaking Dawn! YAYYYY!
In honor of that, my question is this:
What is your game plan for reading the book? Staying up all night? Pacing yourself? Skimming as quickly as you can and re-reading later? Savoring it since it's the last one?

Questions of the Day
I have been reading some other YA Vampire novels, and they have me thinking about the turning process. In Twilight, SM, has the turning process to be one of intense pain. In these other novels I have read, the process turns out to be one of tranquility and a merging of the two souls involved in the process- where intense feelings are shared and such. My question today is this:
Do you think there will be any spiritual connection at all between Bella and Edwards souls DURING the turning process?
Why do you think SM has made the turning process painful, while other authors have opted to make it an almost sexual expirience?
